If some part of you has been circling the same ground for a long time.
Therapy for anxiety, trauma, and attachment issues.
You’ve probably tried to manage it already…
Maybe you’ve read the books, learned some techniques, talked yourself through it more times than you can count. Those things aren’t useless, and there are skills worth practicing. But therapy with me isn’t mainly about finding better ways to manage yourself. The deeper work happens when you learn to pause: to notice what’s happening in your body, your emotions, and your reactions, and to get curious about it instead of fighting it.
This isn’t something you can figure out intellectually. Understanding your patterns is useful, but on its own it doesn’t equal change. The process takes time, and it unfolds in ways neither of us can fully plan.
Some relief often comes early: from having someone fully present with you, and from knowing you’ve taken a real step to care for yourself. A well-timed question about your particular situation can shift how you see perceive something you are struggling with.
Deeper change is more gradual, and quieter than people expect. You might still shut down in a hard conversation, but less intensely, or for less time. When it does happen, you meet it with more patience and less shame. Over time, that patience becomes a kind of confidence in yourself. It’s learned, through practice, and often experienced first in the relationship with me.
What people come to me with
People often come to me when they're dealing with:
Anxiety, overthinking, or a mind that won't settle
Relationships where the same conflicts keep repeating
Attachment issues in relationship; anxious, avoidant, combination
Putting others' needs first until there's nothing left for yourself
A harsh inner critic, perfectionism, or feeling like an impostor
Constantly comparing yourself to others
Irritability or a short fuse you don't fully understand
Complex trauma
Using substances or habits to avoid feeling certain things
Losing a sense of meaning, pleasure, or direction
Questions about identity, masculinity, or what's expected of you as a ma
How I Work
My approach is relational and integrative. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, we'll look at how your patterns developed and how they show up in your life now. That can include:
Paying attention to what your body is doing (tightening, bracing, going numb) because that's often where a pattern shows up first and learning to stay with that experience without overriding it
Connecting your emotions to your wants & needs and learning how to tend to each emotion
Understanding how early relationships shaped the way you connect now
Knowing what you feel, and being able to say it, even in the middle of conflict
Setting boundaries that come from understanding yourself, not just rules
Loosening the grip of shame and a harsh inner critic
Working with dreams
Bringing in contemplative practice, when it fits
If this resonates with you, I’d be happy to connect.
I offer a free consultation where we can talk about what’s going on for you and whether working together feels like a good fit.
